Well done everybody!

We have made it to half term! What a strange half term it has been. I cannot tell you how proud I am of all of you. You have all worked incredibly hard and I bet you are all ready for a well earned rest.

A big thank you to all parents for your support over the last 6 weeks - everybody has done an amazing job at keeping the children engaged in their learning. I have absolutely loved seeing all of the fantastic work that you have uploaded onto Tapestry. Your pictures, videos and comments have brightened my day every day.

The highlight of every day for me has been the Teams meetings where I have had the chance to chat to the children and read them a story. I am so grateful for the connection this has given me to the children in Class 1 and I am looking forward to continuing them after half term. Fingers crossed we will be able to see each other in person soon!

I hope you all have a fantastic half term - relax and have fun! Then get ready for Spring term, where we will be learning all about SPACE!

Friday 5th February 2021

It is the end of another week and I just want to say how impressed I have been by the quality of the work I am being sent on Tapestry, well done everyone!

We have now finished looking at Little Red Riding Hood in Literacy and for the final week we will be exploring the Goldilocks story. Through this story we are going to get our bossy boots on and learn a little bit about instructions.

In maths we are going to be looking at the numbers 9 and 10. We will learn to recognise and represent them in different ways, develop our understanding of their composition and learn to order all numbers to 10.

Finally, in topic we will be learning about Chinese New Year - the year of the ox starts on Friday 12th February! We will get the chance to get creative in a variety of ways - you might find it useful to save a few junk modelling bits such as egg boxes or yoghurt pots and some cardboard boxes. Don't worry if you don't have these resources available as I will provide a range of activity options.

Another fantastic week, well done everybody!
In class 1 this week we are going to continue to think about description in writing. The children will start by describing a setting and then move onto describing a character.
In maths we are going to be thinking about different types of measurement, looking closely at length, height and time.
Finally, as it is children's mental health and well-being week we will be completing some work based around this.
Well done for all of your hard work so far, I have loved seeing it and I think you are doing a fantastic job!

Friday 22nd January 2021

Well done everybody! What a fantastic week of learning. I have seen some fantastic things on Tapestry - keep it up!

Next week in class 1 we are going to be starting to think about being 'in the woods', inspired by a walk I took at the weekend.

We will start this in literacy by looking at the Little Red Riding Hood story and in topic we are going to think about how we explore the world around us using our 5 senses both indoors and outdoors.

In maths we are going to continue our work on numbers. We will be learning how to make pairs and we will start to think about addition by combining 2 groups of objects.

I can't wait to see what you get up to!
