Year 6 Sports Day 2020

Despite not having the chance to experience the usual sports day, the children had fantastic time competing in the Y6 decathlon.  The two Year 6 bubbles competed against each other is a closely-fought contest.  Here are some pictures of the action.

Dear Parents and Carers,

Coronavirus (COVID-19)
Yesterday evening, in line with the Prime Minister’s announcement, you will have seen that from the end of the school day on Friday 20 March our school will close to most learners and remain open for those young people who have a social worker, those who have an EHCP or who have parents/carers are key workers.

As a school, we recognise the importance of ensuring that there is consistent educational provision accessible to all of our parents and pupils. Consequently, we have been planning to ensure that there would be a range of different links, downloadable documents and on-line activities in preparation for having to close as a result of the coronavirus outbreak. On the Home page of our school website, you will now find the Home Learning tab. Later today(Thursday 19 March) within this section we will be adding a range of educational website links and a page for each class.

As a staff, we have planned a variety of activities linked to either the children’s current learning or the next half term’s learning. In the class pages, there will be further links to either printable activities and/or tasks that can be read online and completed using your own resources. Our intention is that the children will be able practise and embed their key skills in Maths and English through different interactive on-line games and tasks. There will also be opportunities for the children to research topics in other subjects such as History or Science, which will provide independent, open-ended opportunities for learning. We hope that the children will enjoy this self-directed learning time and that the links and activities provided will be useful to you. As always, we recommend that the children read at home with you as often as possible so that they retain their fluency and the valuable reading skills they have developed at LEH.

Each class page will be regularly updated by the Class teacher in order to ensure consistent educational provision for all of our pupils.

We would like to thank you for your continuing support and understanding during this challenging time. We are still available by email and phone to respond to any queries that you might have in the usual way.  As the next few weeks evolve, we will update you by email if there are any further updates or changes.

Yours sincerely,
Michele O’Donnell

WELCOME MESSAGE

Welcome to Lady Elizabeth Hastings’ VA Church of England Primary School website.  Here you will find information about the wide range of activities that are available to pupils, as well as lots more about our rich curriculum and the “bespoke” learning experience we offer for every child.

LEH has a huge amount to offer your child; unique qualities that will combine to offer an exciting, rich and varied education where every child has the opportunity to flourish. It is a caring school with every child’s happiness, safety and well-being as our key priority. We offer a stimulating and nurturing environment in which your child can develop as a whole person.

Visitors to school comment on the friendly atmosphere, engagement and enjoyment of our pupils and their attitudes to each other. We believe that the respectful relationships that exist between pupils, staff, parents, governors and the local community are strengths of the school, contributing hugely to family well-being.

We value working in partnership with parents to ensure that each child has the opportunities and conditions to achieve their very best. I hope this website gives you a feel for the school, but there is no substitute for coming to the school and seeing for yourself. Please contact us, and we will be delighted to show you round and discuss your child’s future. We have an open door policy for new and existing parents, so please do not hesitate to contact school if you require a guided visit, information or have any queries. We are also always seeking to improve, and so if you can't find what you are looking for here, please do let us know.   Enjoy your visit!
