Subject Leadership

The subject leader for English is Mrs Katie Tait.

They can be contacted by emailing: office@thorparch-leh.co.uk

With oversight and support from our Senior Leadership team, subject leaders oversee and monitor the intent, implementation and impact of their subject.

Intent – The ambition and principles of our curriculum for our children. The curriculum content we expect children to learn.

Implementation – How the intentions are realised. The sequence and strategies used to ensure children know and remember more.

Impact – How we check and see if children know what we expect them to and how we help them further if needed. How the knowledge and skills learnt improve and enriches their lives socially, emotionally, spiritually as well as academically.

Curriculum Statement

At Lady Elizabeth Hastings CE (VA) Primary School our vision for PSHE is to support personal, social, emotional, moral, mental, spiritual and cultural development in both a supportive and challenging way so that they can live and learn in the light of God and let their light shine (Matthew 5:16). We want our children to have high aspirations, a belief in themselves and realise that anything is possible if they put their mind to it. In an ever–changing world, it is important that they are aware, to an appropriate level, of different factors which will affect their world and that they learn how to deal with these so that they have good mental health and well-being. Our PSHE and RSE policy gives further details of how PSHE and RSE are delivered at Lady Elizabeth Hastings’.

PSHE has a curriculum statement outlining in more detail the intent, implementation and impact for the subject.
