Subject Leadership 

The subject leader for Geography is Mr Simon Hesketh.

With oversight and support from our Senior Leadership team, subject leaders oversee and monitor the intent, implementation and impact of their subject.

Intent – The ambition and principles of our curriculum for our children. The curriculum content we expect children to learn. 

Implementation – How the intentions are realised. The sequence and strategies used to ensure children know and remember more. 

Impact – How we check and see if children know what we expect them to and how we help them further if needed. How the knowledge and skills learnt improve and enriches their lives socially, emotionally, spiritually as well as academically. 

Curriculum Statement

At Lady Elizabeth Hastings CE (VA) Primary School our vision for Geography is to inspire children’s curiosity to explore the world and its people, gaining knowledge and understanding of places, cultures and their own impact on the world.  We aim for all our children to have a secure connection to our locality of Thorp Arch and be courageous advocates for its protection.
